These recommendations also emphasize that it is important that the use of these devices does not come at the expense of sleeping hours or spending time with the family.

"From a medical point of view, a child may have many problems due to increased electrical charges due to long periods of sitting in front of the screens, as well as impact on vision."

"Parents should reduce as much time as possible for children to use the screens and be with them while watching the screens to filter the content and interactivity of the children. They should also look for other alternatives for the child, such as exercise."

The Royal College recommended that for children at an early age, parents should make the appropriate decision about the content they watch and how long to use the screens.

For older children, parents should negotiate time limits on the use of smartphones and computers.
